December 2, 2016eNACSO has the pleasure of inviting you to the pre-Event on “The Internet of Toys and Things”, hosted by the IGF 2016.
The pre event will take place on Monday, December 5th, 2016 from 15:00 to 16:30 at the Workshop Room 7 PALCCO in Guadalajara, Mexico.
The “Internet of Things” is a hot topic. As more and more devices become connected to the internet a larger range of security threats have become apparent. In October 2016 Twitter, Spotify and a number of other sites were taken offline through a DDOS attack mounted via discovered breaches in the security of connected devices such as printers and web cams. More and more toys and other items used by children are becoming connected devices. How might children’s security be impacted by lax standards being used by toy manufacturers? What can be done to ensure cost cutting or corporate carelessness does not put children at risk? How should key actors, especially policy makers respond?
