Child, sexual abuse and exploitation online
Directive 2011/93/EU on combating the sexual abuse and sexual exploitation of children and child pornography. was adopted by the European Parliament and the Council on 13/12/11 and requires Member States to adapt their legislation by 18/12/13.
Directive 2011/93/EU based on Article 82 (2) and Article 83 (1) of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union (the TFEU) establishes minimal rules concerning the definition of criminal offences and sanctions in the area of sexual abuse and sexual exploitation of children, and child pornography and introduces provisions to strengthen the prevention of those crimes and the protection of the victims thereof.
